The things not to miss in Bolzano And Renon

Duomo di bolzano

Duomo di Bolzano

With its precious green and gold cover, the Cathedral of Bolzano dominates Piazza Walther and is the most important religious building in the city. Restored in 2008, this wonderful example of late Gothic style was finished in 1420, but its origins are much older. The Cathedral of Bolzano is dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta and hides precious treasures. Outside there are the red and yellow marble cladding with Gothic elements, the portal and the door of the wine. The most precious objects like gold, silver, parchments and relics, however, are preserved in the Museum of the Cathedral: it is located at the foot of the bell tower and testifies to the wealth and devotion of the faithful over the centuries.

Timetable: The Duomo is visited every day from 10 to 17; the museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 to 12.

Ticket price: The entrance ticket to the cathedral museum costs 4 euros for adults and is free for children up to 7 years.
